Happy National Lipstick Day!

In honor of National Lipstick Day, I would like to share with you some interesting facts that I've heard about lipstick... Women use up to 9 pounds of lipstick in their lifetime.  Statistically speaking, lipstick sales increase on gloomy days...I know I like to buy lipstick when I'm feeling down. Lipstick is the most commonly shoplifted item. Women surveyed in a poll showed that 40% of women owned more than 20 lipstick at any given time...I'm not quite there yet 70% of men polled think red lipstick is sexy. 30% or more of our lipstick ends up in our stomach, especially if they are flavored shades due to lip licking and eating...eww, that's not good.

My RocksBox Arrived!

Hi everyone, just thought I'd share with you what I received from my first and second Rocksbox.  These are the jewelry pieces that were selected by a stylist at RocksBox based on the answers that I provided in my style profile.  I think they did a pretty good job selecting the items for me, but I do feel that the prices are a bit too high.  So with that said, I think I will be sending them back and will have to wait for the next set. For those of you that might be curious about the brands or items that Rocksbox send out, I hope you will find this helpful! RocksBox #1:  I forgot to write down the exact prices that were printed on the invoice for these pieces.  If  I remember them correctly, I think with the member-discount, the price was around $30-$50 for each item. RocksBox #2: Gorjana Tanner Shimmer Necklace in Rose Gold - $48 House of Harlow 1960 Sunburst Earrings In White - $28 CC Skye Mini Spike Gold Bracelet - $88

I've always been a bit obsessed with boxes.  I love to buy cute boxes and organize everything in them. Recently I've extended my obsession into beauty subscription boxes, jewelry subscription boxes, etc.  Ah, it's just endless, and somehow I manage to find myself being curious about all of them.   So today, I'll be extending my obsession to all of you.  I just found out about RocksBox which is a monthly jewelry subscription box, and they are doing a limited time promotion to let new subscribers try a month for FREE!!!  I think they currently only ship to the United States though. What's the catch you ask? Well, your monthly subscription entitles you to receive a Rocksbox filled with three pieces of jewelry, which you may wear for as long as your membership is active.  But if you fall in love with any of the pieces and want to keep it forever, you will have to buy the item(s) at a members-only 20% off retail discount price.  If you don't like any of the

Scrapbooking Made Simple: Part II

Today I will be sharing some of the gadgets that I like to use for making my photos fun and easy to incorporate into my scrapbook. I love the Polaroid Instant Print Digital Camera Z2300-if you like to take photos of everything and like to stick them into a scrapbook or turn your photos into stickers for any projects, this is a great camera to have.  It uses ZINK Zero Ink Printing Technology, so all you need to buy are the 2x3" ZINK photo papers to start printing; no ink needed. These papers are generally sticky on the back, so you can turn your photos into stickers instantly.  If you don't want them as stickers, they also sell ZINK papers that are non-adhesive. It is a 10 MP camera with flash, self timer and cute borders that can be added to your photos.  You can take photos and record videos with it, and there's a slot for memory card. But if the Polaroid Instant Print Digital Camera is a bit too expensive to invest in, and you already have some sort of photo printer

Scrapbooking Made Simple: Part I

I've been scrapbooking for over two years now, it's mainly for my own enjoyment and for having a physical place to organize my thoughts, memories and some important photos. It's kind of like my blog, except instead of sharing it with everyone, my scrapbook is meant to be a private space.   Large: 11" x 13" I received my first "Smash Book" as a gift on Christmas two years ago, and that pretty much got me started on keeping a scrapbook.  What is smash book? Smash Books are basically books that are made for easy-scrapbook creation.  It's created by K&Company with the idea that you can capture all the big and little moments in your daily life by quickly adding (smashing) photos,  writings and whatever else that comes to mind onto the pages.  Every page already has a theme, so you never have to worry about it being too plain. Just find the page that you like for that particular day, and start "smashing" things onto it.   It

It's Tea Time...

There are many health benefits to drinking tea, here are some of the main reasons why I like to drink them. 1) Tea contains antioxidants which helps maintain your body's defenses against free radicals. 2) Tea may reduce your risk of heart attack and stroke because it may prevent your arteries from getting clog.   3) Tea (green tea) can increase your metabolism, by drinking a few cups a day it may help you burn additional calories.   4) Tea has less caffeine than coffee, so if you need just a bit of a pick-me-up without over doing on the caffeine, drinking some tea might just do the trick.   5) I personally think that tea tastes great!  There are so many different varieties of tea out there, you can always find something that can be enjoyed throughout the day or for winding down at night. It's a pretty great stress reducer for me.  Have a sip of tea, relax your mind and body, and imagine all the problems going away :) Here are some of the teas that I
