Since I tend to have really chapped lips, I'm always seeking products that will help to hydrate and nourish them. If the packaging is cute or if it says "limited edition" on it, then that's another plus, and I'm all for it! Thankfully most of these items can be found at the local drugstores or retail chain stores---so they are affordable! Here are some of the products that I really love.
1) For really dry lips, I recommend Blistex Lip Medex. I've tried many different lip balms already, and I personally love this one the most. It's inexpensive and it's easy to find. It should be available at any local drugstores or retail chain stores (Walgreens, Target, Walmart...etc) for under $2. Not the cutest bottle, but it works! I like to apply it to my lips during the day or before I get dressed to go out. By the time I'm finished with everything, my lips are much softer and ready for putting on lipstick.
2) I also like EOS (Evolution of Smooth) sphere lip balm. It's a hydrating lip balm in a very cute egg-like container. There are many different natural flavors to choose from, and they do have limited edition flavors available for different seasons. The yellow one "lemon drop" is an SPF 15 lip balm, great for protecting your lips from the sun. These are also available at most local drugstores or retail chain stores for $3-4 each.
3) ChapStick is another reliable brand of lip balm that I like to buy. I haven't tried these candy cane flavor lip balm yet, but I heard they smell really nice and that they are only available during the holidays, so I picked them up. I think the cost was about $3-4 for the kit (there are three sticks inside) If you like candy cane flavor, then you must look for them next time when they come around again.
4) If you're willing to spend a little more money on lip treatment, I would definitely recommend Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment with SPF 15. There are many different tints you can choose from, and they also have a clear one. I personally love using the tinted one, in the color rose. My lips are pretty pigmented, color usually don't show up when I use tinted lip balm, but this one does. You can find them at most specialty beauty stores or at the department stores for about $23 each.
