Summer is here, I would like to share some tips/products that I think are worth trying out.
(Note: I am not being paid by any of these companies for recommending them, I'm sharing these with you because I truly think they are great products.)
Tip #1: Keep yourself hydrated! We all know that it's very important to stay hydrated, particularly on a very hot day. If you don't fancy drinking plain water, and is looking for a healthier alternative to quench your thirst, do try this new 100% raw coconut water from Harmless Harvest. It's the tastiest coconut water in a bottle that I've ever had so far. I normally do not like the taste of any bottled coconut waters that are out in the market right now, they either taste slightly milky or they have a bunch of additives in them. This company apparently preserves the authentic flavor of the organic coconuts by using a manufacturing systems of "straight coconut-to-bottle bottling and high pressure processing" which helps retain all the flavor, aroma, and nutrients of the raw coconuts. They are kind of expensive, about $4-6 per bottle depending on where you buy them from, but they are worth it. I'm completely hooked on them! You can go to their official website for more info. Oh, and if you have cute little doggies or pets at home, don't forget to keep them cool and hydrated as well <3
Tip #2: Don't forget to put on your sunscreen before you head out! It's important to protect your skin from sun damage. To do that, I like to use my Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Face & Body Stick Suncreen with sun protection factor (SPF) 70. Technically I think you only need to use sunscreen with SPF 30 for UVA/UVB protection, but I guess it doesn't hurt if a product has more SPF. I really like this particular sunscreen because it comes in a deodorant-like container and you can apply it to your face and body without having to touch it, so your hands don't have to feel greasy and sticky at all. It's actually really convenient to take with you outside. It feels weightless and non-greasy on the skin. Love it!
Tip #3: Protect your eyes when you go outside! The best defense against eye and eyelid damage is to wear sunglasses when you head out. Even on overcast days, UV can penetrate through clouds and haze, so it's best to wear your sunglasses year round. When choosing your sunglasses, aside from looking at the style, make sure they provide 100% UV protection and that it's large enough to shield your eyes away from the sun. For how to choose the right sunglasses for your face shape, check out my previous post!
Tip #4: Last but not least, don't be afraid to wear some vibrant summery colors! If you're not comfortable wearing colorful clothing, try having some colors on your nails at least. If you're the creative type, go for some nail art/design. I recently found a cute mini nail art tool kit from Sally Hansen. The kit had 1 detailing brush, 1 striping brush, and 1 marbling & dotting tool. A perfect little kit for just $6-7. It didn't come with any instructions on how to use the tools, but I'm sure you can look it up elsewhere for info and ideas. If you feel like jazzing up your nails, do try this kit out!
